This blog has not been updated in a few years, and I believe the time has come to continue writing once more. I have personally been busy writing my other blog, thetruth-blog.blogspot.com , an offshoot of thetruth-ministry.webs.com . You may or may not agree with the topic, but I would recommend it to anyone.

Now, the website is currently under revision. The comic book world, especially in the area of movies, continues to grow, and I believe it is time to continue talking about it. Time to geek out once more. So, expect a links page coming up soon, logo change, design change, and what have you. I have gleaned much experience these past few years, and I plan to add to my experience by continuing this blog.

Also, I run a Smallville Spoiler site, "S-Villesite," and am an affiliate of The Superman Homepage. You can find S-Villesite here.

I hope you'll enjoy what's coming down the pipeline, thank you for all those who have supported me thus far, may we enter into a new era of geekdom. What do I want to see in it and what do I think should be in it?

Well, where to start, Superman Unleashed SHOULD be the sequel to Superman Returns. Superman Unleashed SHOULD have Brandon Routh as Superman, with the same cast as Perry, Lois, Jimmy, and Jason. What should happen? We need Clark to accidently re-awaken Zod by doing something to the Fortress, who in waking up calls upon Brainiac to help him defeat Superman. However, Brainiac turns on Zod so Superman and Zod must work together to stop him, but in the end, after Brainiac is defeated, Zod turns on him and Superman finally traps him in the Phantom Zone, but no first without Jason accidently revealing he is the son of Superman to Zod. Zod's last words are "The House of El will crumble after the Dawn Comes."

Superman Unleashed. Let me know what you think. And I wouldn't mind a cameo from Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, but Please, don't make him the MAIN villan this time. Anyways, next few posts I'll be reviewing some comics I've gotten recently or graphic novels... We'll see how that works out. Till then, Night everyone

Kingdom Come Overview

Wow. What to say about Kingdom Come, one of the Greatest Graphic Novels/Mini Series ever made?

If you don't know what Kingdom Come is, Kingdom Come is a DC Comics Mini-Series that ran in 1996, featuring Art Work from Alex Ross and written by DC Veteran Mark Waid. It was an "Elseworlds" tale where the future of the DC Universe wasn't too bright, where Heroes and Villains fight openly on the streets without consideration for what happens.

Together with Mark Waid's story, the artwork drawn by Alex Ross really bring the story-and characters-to life. Along with the fact that the lead character, Norman McCay, was modelled after Alex's Ross' Father, Clark Norman Ross, is a little nod.

Well, my point of this was to review Kindgom Comes, but I just can't seem to put into words how awesome this book is.

If you've ever read a comic where you can go back and read it everytime and end up finding something new, catching something you hadn't before, it seems everytime I pick this book up It tells a different story, each time with an added element. That's what I love about Kingdom Come. It's 12 years old and unlike many, many other books and comics, I can always pick it up and read it again, it's that good.

And It didn't end with Kingdom Come either. Kingdom Come took place on "Earth-22," and in the recent "52" series, DC brought the world back. More recently, in Justice Society of America, the Kingdom Come Superman is now a main character, an integral part of the Society. There have also been many spin-offs of Kingdom Come, sequels, things such as "The Kingdom."

Now... "The Kingdom" took place after Kingdom Come, and while it was written by Mark Waid, Alex Ross did not illustrate it. Which kinda stinks, but I haven't read it yet, but I plan to soon.
Another great thing is, like I said, the mini-series isn't all of it. An Audiobook with four parts as well as a novelized version by Elliot S! Maggin came out very soon after.

Recently, I purchased the Audio Book, and while Superman sounded to... Calm, even in his Angry scenes, I really liked the Audiobook, it was nearly 3 hours long.

I could rant on and on about the greatness of Kingdom Come, but It wouldn't get me anywhere.
With the recent DC Animated Movie adaptions of famous comic arcs, such as Superman: Doomsday or Justice League: The New Frontier, I'm really hoping we one day soon get a Kingdom Come movie adaption, at least a two-hour movie, I mean, go ahead DC, make it, but make it right, don't do animation, do CGI, make it the style of Beowulf, something like that, but make it more adult, make it good, if at all.

At any rate, If you get the chance to read it, don;t hesitate if you're a comic fan at all.
If you don't have it, I would suggest going to your nearest Comic or Book Store, perhaps looking on Amazon (Where I got my copy), maybe try getting it from the Library before you buy it. That's what I did, checked it out, kept it for longer than I should have to... well, It was good. Still is.

Kingdom Come is an extremely well-put together graphic novel, and If you do at all like heroes, villains, or comics, pick it up right now, It's worth the read. Till Next Time.

Lost Films: Batman Triumphant

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first edition of a new thing I'm starting here on the blog, a segment called Lost Films. Now, this segment could vary, with different things. It could be about concept ideas that never fully came about. It could be about a movie that was filmed but never released. It could vary from week to week, but this week's edition focuses on one I would have liked to see, no matter how bad the previous movie was: Batman Triumphant.

The would-be Batman film would have had a range of cast from previous films, as well as new actors to the series. It was supposed to star George Clooney returning as Batman, with Chris O'Donnel returning for a third time as Robin/Nightwing.

The plot revovled around Scarecrow, who, like in the recent reboot, Batman Begins, uses Fear Toxin... but this film would have Jack Nicholson reprise his role of Joker, the fear toxin would have resurrected the Joker. He would also have appeared in a dream sequence. Another villain in the film would have been Man-Bat.

However, after seeing the poor reaction to Batman & Robin, WB decided to reboot the series instead of setting Triumphant for a 1999 release, the project was shelved, in favor of a live-action Batman Beyond and Batman: Year One (which was to star Christian Bale)

Both movies were similarly shelved, pavig the way for Batman Begins, Batman: Gotham Knight, and The Dark knight, released this past July.

While gone, Batman Triumphant is not forgotten. Go to Youtube and look up Batman Triumphant, you're bound to find some interesting videos on the movie. Till next time... Geekman out.

Batman Vs. Troy here. Well, I said I would talk about Superman Vs. Batman (or Batman-Superman for you die-hard Batman fans)

Where to begin... well, back in '01, Akiva Goldsman penned a script where Bruce came back after 5 years of hero retirement, having a mental breakdown, with Gordon, Dick, and Alfred all dead, and Clark Kent (Superman) is struggling with his divorce with Lois. Bruce marries a woman named Elizabeth... but the Joker kills her at the Reception. Wanting revenge, Bruce blames Clark for her death. Clark goes into exile with Lana, but the entire plot is all being set up by Lex Luthor.

At least, that WAS the script, and you can see why it never turned out. However, Christian Bale was set to play Batman (who went on later to play Batman in Batman Begins and Dark Knight), with Josh Hartnett as Superman. Principal photography was set to take place in 2002-2003, with the film set for a 2004 release date.

However, WB decided to go with a Superman Reboot as well as a Batman Reboot... Christian Bale kept the role and went on to play Batman/Bruce Wayne, Josh Hartnett lost the role to Brandon Routh of Superman Returns.

But... are there still plans to make a Superman vs Batman movie? Or is all hope lost for this forgotten film?

Well, there's always hope. With the Nolan Batman series grossing millions, and a Superman Reboot on the way, there's a high chance to still have a Superman Vs. Batman film.

Who would I have portray the characters? Kevin Spacey as Lex, Brandon Routh as Clark/Superman, Christian Bale as Bruce/Batman, but instead of Joker (I don't see anyone else playing the Joker except Heath Ledger), put in Riddler, get Johnny Depp to play him. That would be something.

If you can't wait for any news on a film, then check out this pic right here. This should fill your fanboys dreams for the time being... till next time... Happy Thanksgiving Everybody.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://mrgeekman.blogspot.com/2008/11/batman-vs-superman.html' title='Batman Vs. I've been browing the web ALL MORNING LONG, Happy Thanksgiving for those of us in the US celebrating today... I know I can't wait till dinner.

As I was saying, I've been browsing the web searching for stuff on Batman 3, and while it is not officially confirmed, DC seems to want it to go, released 2010-2011, aiming for a 2011 release date.

So, I've decided to lay my cards on the table so to speak, list some names that people have come up with, pick which one I think would best suit, possibly go off on a Superman tangent for a moment... but at any rate, Happy Thanksgiving... and here's what I think.

Some of the possible titles being thrown around by us fans are: Shadow of the Bat, The Dark Knight Returns, Gotham, Gotham City, Gotham Dawn, Gotham Knights (while Gotham Knight was similar in title, Batman 3 would be to confusing to be named Gotham Knights), The Caped Crusader, Dark Victory, Mask of the Phantasm (Based of the Animated Movie), Batman: the Dawn, Knightfall, and other titles such as those.

Now... my favorite title would be The Caped Crusader (see fan-made poster). I think that if they make Batman 3, and they will, you can be sure of that, it may be called Dark Knight Returns... but I think how, the sequels to Superman Returns and Batman Begins were both supposed to be other title, such as Man of Steel, the proposed sequel... which is still up in the air.

So, for the sequel to Batman Begins, they chose another recognizable name for the Big Black Bat: The Dark Knight. Now, if they are to make a third movie, the most likely choice would have to be The Caped Crusader.

As for who the villains may be, I really don't care who they chose. As long as Nolan is doing the movie, I know he'll do the character right, probably better than any incarnation, such as Heath Ledger's Joker. There have been rumours floating around that Riddler and Penguin would be the next two villains, and honestly, I think it would be cool to see Johnny Depp as the Riddler, as rumours have said. As for Hoffman as Penguin... hey, if you can do him right, do it up my friend.

Some people are saying Mr. Freeze should be in the movie, along with Poison Ivy... first appearance from Robin... and if this is the last film, then by all means, give us Robin, give us the Batplane. Now... I've seen some fan posters with Thomas Decker (Heroes, John Conner on Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles) as Robin. I think he would be a prefect choice for Robin, he looks the part, and he could certainly act the part.

Honestly, I don't know how they should do the next movie. How would I like it, personally? Call it the Caped Crusader. Get Thomas Decker to play Robin. Get the Penguin, get Johnny Depp, get Angelina Jolie, whoever else you need, make it another movie like the '66 Batman with Adam West, where all the villains team up... or, make Batman 3: Caped Crusader, then make Superman/Batman (see next post for more on Superman/Batman), and then make Batman 4, teaming up all the heroes. That would be amazing... then give us a Justice League film. Fanboy dreams: fulfilled.

So... let's see Caped Crusader out by August 4, 2011, alright DC? Give us a Batman move. And please, get Thomas Decker, get Johnny Depp. Let's get pumped for Batman... once again.

Upcoming DC Movies (Part Two)

In Part Two at my look into future DC Movies, I examine (or rather, tell) of upcoming DC Titles that you've probably heard about - and some you probably haven't. (Also, look for my 'Upcoming' Marvel Edition within the next few days.)

First off, we have "The Spirit," starring Gabriel Macht in the titular role. Spirit is based on the DC mini-series, and is set to be released in theaters on December 25, 2008. Next we have The Watchmen, the movie adaption of one of the Best-Selling Graphic Novels, starring Patrick Wilson as Nightowl and Jeffrey Dean Morgan [of Supernatural fame]. The Watchmen is set to be released on March 6, 2009 in theaters near you.

After that comes the tricky part. The Live-Action Films after Watchmen are still all in Production, most moving full-steam ahead. But it seems its the Green Heroes who get the Movie Treatment first. Green Hornet is set to be released June 25, 2010, and will star Seth Rogen as the tituar Hero and Stephen Cow as Hornet's sidekick, Kato.

Green Arrow is getting his own movie as well. It takes place after Oliver Queen is arrested for a crime he may or may not have commited and is sent to Supermax. Thus the title, Green Arrow: Escape from Supermax. We're being told that certain DC Villains will appear in the film, including Floronic-Man and Joker.

And of the last Green Hero to speak of, a GREEN LANTERN MOVIE is in full-on production, with filing to begin next spring, and a 2010 release date set, David Boreanaz of Angel & Buffy fame has expressed deep interest in portraying Hal Jordan. Also, a Green Lantern animated film is next in line following 2009's Animated Wonder Woman origin movie.

Batman 3 has been proposed on numerous occasions, and Bale IS signed for a trilogy so... Batman 3 is HIGHLEY likely. Paul Levits has recently said the other day that if things work out, it will be out by 2011.

Superman however... is another thing ENTIRELY. The new Superman Reboot still doesn;t have a set script, but rumors have been floating around (of which I hope are true) that Brandon Routh is STILL going to play Superman, even in the Reboot. Let's hope that works out that way, I can;t imagine another Superman on the Silver Screen. (Aside from Tom Welling, but DC would never allow that) Superman is set to be released in 2012.

Shazam is set o star in a film of his own as well, around 2011/2012.

Also, JUSTICE LEAGUE: MORTAL is apparently still moving forward... with Megan Gale (Wonder Woman) moving to Los Angeles for Acting, and Miller stating the movie is still set to resume filming next year, let's hope the rumours of the movie being tied to Dark Knigt are true.

Moving on, (away from Live-Action) DC [aside from Wonder Woman and the animated Green Lantern Film] have a new movie on the roster: SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES. (I just find it coll because I own the graphic novel) So... that should be really good...

And last but certainly not least, DC Animated is shooting for ANOTHER animated Batman film, set to be released anywhere from 2009-2011.

And, I guess that's all I have for today... I'll be back soon with discussion on these titles...

Including a review of the graphic novel, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, as well as other Graphic Novel reviews to come...

See you soon...

No Man of Steel... Due to the sucess of Nolan's Batman Begins, as well as The Dark Knight, Warner Brother has announced that four new movies are to be released over the next three years.

Batman 3, The first in the Superman Reboot, and two others. Possibilities include Flash, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman... but we're still guessing one of these will be Green Arrow: Escape from Supermax.

As to where we will go from here... I have no idea. With a complete ReBoot of the Superman Franchise, WB could do anything with the films. The first of the new Superman Series, could possibly deal with Brainiac, as they have said it will be a darker film.

They could always adapt a best-selling mini-series as well... or storyarc, such as Death of Superman... maybe even Kingdom Come.

But don't expect a Batman Vs. Superman film just yet. Warner has said that due to the Reboot, as well as the release of Batman 3... there isn't room for that film yet....

Of course, I heard from a very reliable source that another reasoning behind the Reboot, not only because we are in need of a new Superman film, not only because of the Much considered failure Superman Returns (which In my opinion was a good film), but... because Warner Brothers and DC have finally realized what Marvel has also realized.

Marvel is making several Superhero films to lead up to an Avengers film... and now... DC is doing the same. The Nolan Batman, the new Green Lantern, the new Green Arrow, and the new Superman... will be in a much needed Justice League movie.

But if this film will still be the Justice League: Mortal film that was supposed to be still active... we are unsure of.

What I can tell you is that DC has finally taken the direction Marvel has been recently: Reboots, Team-Ups, Crossovers... now.... Justice Leauge. So... here's to a bright Time to be a Comic Fan.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://mrgeekman.blogspot.com/2008/08/no-man-of-steel-but-darker-superman.html' title='No Man of Steel... The answer... although it is two years later... is STILL NOT definite.

Mark Millar reportedly has been hired to do another Superman Reboot... or at least he claims so... and it seems like he will be, and Bryan Singer is now directing another movie... but... we already have Brandon, Kevin, and Kate saying they will return for MOS. Plus a new love interest, a Brainiac Plot... and they were casting extras not to long ago... so...

Whats going on? DC needs to give us a definite answer - are we getting a Singer Superman... or a Millar Superman? In any case, I hope Routh still stars as Superman in whatever movie may come out.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://mrgeekman.blogspot.com/2008/08/man-of-steel-go-or-not.html' title='Man of Steel - A Go? I'm tonight's entertainment! Well.. not really... considering this review isn't very long... and it's long overdue... but hey, at least I'm doing a review, right?

Alrighty then, I'll just get right into it. What to say about Dark Knight... well, It was probably one of the best movies I've seen in my entire life. The story kept moving at a fast pace, so you could be sure there was plenty of action.

I won't go to in-depth about the plot of the movie, because... I just won't. I liked how they sort of wrapped up Scarecrow's story in this movie in the first... 20 minutes I believe. It was different, I'll give them that. I wasn't expecting 'Batmen' to show up... but I was expecting BatMAN to show up... and that wish was fulfilled.

Heath Ledger's performance is probably part of what rocked the box office and hit it full-on. I definitely think he deserves an Oscar for his performance. The Joker... unlike the Burton Joker (And I loved Jack's Performance as well), was a completely cold-blooded killer with no regrets whatsoever.

And Aaron as Harvey Dent... was just incredible. This movie completely blew many other movies, including all other Batman movies, out of the water. Usually, In my opinion, sequels are horrible, and don't live up to the first film. But Dark Knight... definitely lived up to Begins.

And after I saw the premiere, I went back at least a few more times to see the movie, because it was SO good. Even if you aren't a Superhero fan... or a Batman fan... or a mob film fan... this movie is just incredible, it's amazing... there's just so many ways to describe it. Which is why, If you haven't seen Dark Knight... go see it... like... right now. Because It's one of the best films to ever come out.

DARK KNIGHT - COMING MIDNIGHT

Well... But then there's the secondary character people think about, then the third, and it goes to the point where there are characters that no one's ever heard of.

With Green Hornet however, this is not the case. While Britt Reid aka Green Hornet has not appeared in many forms of media, he has had his share. A radio series back in the 30's, two movies serials in the 40's, and a tv series back in the 60's. In the late 90s, people were talking about a Green Hornet Feature-Length Movie starring George Clooney and Jason Scott Lee., but it never was greenlit.

Several scripts have been written in recent years, one by John Fusco in 2002, one by Kevin Smith in 2004, but were never fully developed into movies. Two years ago, a ten-minute Green Hornet Fan Film was released online. (You can view that by clicking on green hornet fan film)

But in the past two years, wheels have been moving full-steam, and a new movie, simply titled Green Hornet, will star Seth Rogen as Green Hornet. Seth not only plays Hornet, but is writing and producing as well. The film is set to be released on June 20, 2010.

Nolan Batman Film Series

With the release of Batman Begins, Nolan restarted the Batman Media Franchise, with a anime follow-up, recently relased, Batman: Gotham Knight (which I must say was an excellent movie and has things that are touched on more in Dark Knight). Following Gotham Knight is Dark Knight, the sequel to Begins, picking up a year later. When we last saw Batman (aside from Gotham Knight), he was going to rebuild Wayne Manor, and he was going to hunt down all of the Arkham Escaped Inmates, as well as a new madman: The Joker.

A year later, in Gotham Knight, Bruce has yet to track down all inmates, has moved to an penthouse in Gotham City, and has yet to catch the Joker. However, a string of killings have been going on, from Teresa Williams to the Mayor of Gotham, people are getting killed-and its not just by an assassin. The ongoing gan wars between Sal Maroni, no head of the Falconi Crime Family, and the Russians. The island is now sealed off, and the escaped inmates are all trapped on the island, filled with fear gas. And to top it off, Jonathan Crane is still loose.

Dent is running, and things are starting to heat up in Gotham. Now... Dark Knight. Now Dent has won the Campaign, the Joker is out for the kill, and problems begin to arise yet again in Gotham...

Dark Knight arrives in theaters on Friday (I am grateful that I will be going to the world premiere, which happens to be the day after by birthday, which is on Thursday.

But what happens after Dark Knight? Where do we... begin? Obviuosly, things are just starting to kick off again for Batman, as Batman: The Brave and The Bold hits TV screens next year, and Mark Millar has been talking about some new Batman project he hasn't elaborated on what it is yet... but then... then, we have Batman 3.

What will happen in Batman 3? Who knows. However, someone on the inside has said that Batman 3 will likely take place right after Dark Knight, and will continue on the story of Two-Face. Catwoman is likely to appear in this third instalment of the Nolan Series (fourth if you count Gotham Knight), and if all goes well, Riddler will probably be appearing. As Nolan has said before, some of the story elements for these movies come from Batman: The Long Halloween... and since Joker will not be appearing in Batman 3... we will have to move on the the Long Halloween's sequel... Dark Victory.

In Dark Victory... Batman finally meets Robin. Will this all happen in Batman 3? We'll find out soon enough as the film has a release date of 2010/2011. My theory for at least a minor part of the movie, since Batmobile/Tumblr was introduced in Begins, and with Batpod introduced in Dark Knight... will the Bat-Plane be introduced in Batman 3? Only time will tell...

No Hulk 2?

I was checking my e-mail earlier, when I looked at Yahoo news, and I saw this. I sorta remeber being told about his appearance in it a few months ago, but I remembered just now, after I wrote about Harvey Dent.

So.... I looked on Google for a picture of Scarecrow in Dark Knight.... and this is what I found. The shot of Batman jumping onto a white van that Crane is driving.

Now... Im still not sure what role he plays in the film, and the reason I thought he wouldn't be in the film is because I also recall DC saying that he would be in Batman: Gotham Knight, which takes place between Begins and Dark Knight. I guess I thought his story would be resolved in the animated movie.

So.... until next time!

Two-Face in Dark Knight

Well... for a while now we've heard about Harvey Dent becoming Two-Face in The Dark Knight. Now we're sure, since we saw in the third trailer, a photo of his burnt face is on youtube, and today a exclusive scene from the movie was released on Youtube. You can view it here.

If you go here, you can see two promo shots of Two-Face. Another leaked photo (as mentioned above) is of Harvey Dent as Two-Face lying in a Hospital bed. You can see that by clicking here.

So... originally, from what I remember, Two-Face wasn't even in the movie at all. At least I don't think so.... I recall Nolan saying that Batman 3 would begin with Joker's trial, and the Joker would throw acid at Harvey Dent, scarring him and forcing him to become Two-Face.

As for how this will happen in Dark Knight, I'm not sure. But I can tell you that Dent becoming Two-Face is caused by The Joker.

Iron Man & Hulk

I've blogged sereral times about the Hulk and Iron Man appearing together... so I figured since we will know tomorrow what Tony Stark's role in The Incredible Hulk is, I might as well blog all about what Edward Norton and Richard Downey Jr. are doing in the next few films.

As you know, Iron Man 2, starring almost every cast member from the first film, is to be released on April 30, 2010.

The film will revlove around Tony's new drinking problem, with Pepper getting a boyfriend as well as a few other things, such as a cameo appearance by Thor.

It is likely that the scene after the Hulk credits may involve Stark (along with Fury) asking Banner to join the Avengers Initiative. But we may get something completely unexpected....

Tim Blake Nelson stars as Samuel Sterns in The Incredible Hulk. In Hulk 2, Sterns will become the Leader, one of Hulk's foes from the comics.

Both Jon Favreau and Louis Leterrier have said that if Norton and Downey are unable to reprise their roles as Hulk and Iron Man (respectively) than Avengers, set for a July 2011 release date, is a no-go. However, I think they are both signed on for Avengers.... so I'm sure It'll be on the big screen in 2011.

And with that, I close by saying, if you want to see the opening credits for Hulk (I'm still pretty sure you can spot Captain America in the opening credits), get there VERY EARLY if you are going to the first showing. Wish I could, but I'm kind of busy that early in the morning.

So... until next time!

Captain America and Thor in Marvel Movies

Wow. I have a big load of posts I want to do... so I guess this is where I'll begin.

As most of you Marvel fans know, Thor and Captain America have both appeared in movies. Captain America appeared in the 1991 Captain America Film played by Matt Salinger, with Scott Paulin co-starring as Red Skull. There was also a 1944 Captain America serial... but I won't get into that.

Thor (played by Eric Allan Kramer) appeared in the 1988 movie, The Incredible Hulk Returns, with Steve Levitt playing Donald Blake. The movie was to serve as a backdoor pilot for a now-unproduced Thor TV series. (DC's Mercy Reef didn't kick it off to well but at least they filmed a pilot)

Thor will be appearing in Iron Man 2, release date April 30, 2010. Whether he will appear after the credits or in the movie remains to be seen. The first single film, THOR, is released June 4 (some sources say July 4) 2010.

As for Captain America, the future looks bright for him. His shield was very briefly seen in Iron Man, since Tony Stark has built it and may give it to S.H.I.E.L.D., and Cap gets another movie, First Avenger: Captain America, which takes place during World War II.

The animated movie Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow will be released August 26, 2008 on DVD. It stars Iron Man, Hulk, and the children of the Avengers, such as the daughter of Thor, son of Captain America, and son of Black Panther. Whether Captain America or Thor will appear in the film remains to be seen, but an older Hulk and an older Tony Stark/Iron Man WILL appear in the film.

The Producer for Incredible Hulk has already stated that in a deleted scene, Banner goes to the Arctic to find a cure for the gamma radiation, and sees Captain America. He has said that we WILL see this scene on the DVD, and hinted at the fact that Captain America may also appear briefly in the opening credits for Incredible Hulk.... and with Tony Stark being in the movie, this still leaves a big question: What happens in the scene after the credits?

Iron Man's Scene from Incredible Hulk

If you follow this link, you can view the TV Spot for Incredible Hulk, with two glimpses of Tony Stark talking to Thaddeus Ross, Betty Ross' father.

Why they have put this out already.... I'm still not sure, I guess to get people to come not only to see Hulk, but to see Stark (Iron Man) as well. Let me tell you though, I was told that the scene with Stark took place after the credits, and since it seems like the scene will take place in-movie, it will be interesting to see just how many scenes Downey is in and if Stark and Banner meet, I'll be satisfied. The Film comes out in two days, on Friday, June 13. It will also be interesting to see what the scene is following the credits if Downey makes a Pre-Credits appearance.

Also, as I said previously, Thor will guest star in Iron Man 2. Still not sure how that will all come into play, but I will.... can't wait for either films. Hopefully S.H.I.E.L.D. will appear in Hulk.... Till next time.

In My Time of Flying - Review of Superman/Batman #48

So I just got done reading Superman/Batman #48 and let me say.... wow. For those of you who haven't read this issue I won't spoil every detail in the review, but I would suggest you go read it then come back and read my review.

So... on with my review. They advertised the issue as Doomsday's return, this time filled by Kryptonite. What did we get? Mostly the same thing, only in this case his name was Joshua Walker, the son of two Kansas farmers who went off to the Army only to be used by Amanda Waller.

I have to say though, I wish the 'K' storyline ended an issue or two ago, i mean... seriously, do you think you can get rid of ALL the KRYPTONITE ON EARTH?The answer my Dear Watson? I think not.

Really though, it was bad enough they said that Thomas Wayne and Jor-El have a connection... which we don;t find out about for two more issues so I just spoiled Batman/Superman #50.... but to have a year worth of stories about ridding the world of Kryponite, that's just.... wrong. I honestly love this series, and I hope it goes far, unlike my little friend Superman Confidential (Teddy Bears, really?), but I honestly think the story should end and we need to get on to something better... but I still think they are saving the god stuff until the whole Crisis storyline is over.

In my opinion, I don;t think is going to be the last Crisis type story. DC will have many continuities running all at once and decide, well gee, we need to have some way to explain all of these different storylines.

So... the issue. Most of the issue was spent with Josh and Clark duking it out, with Clark barely holding his own against the kryptonite-infected smallvillian. Or whatever they call the people of Smallville. When they first showed the cover on the DC Comics homepage, I got excited, I thought, yes! Finally a Doomsday story I won't miss! Then I picked it up in stores and I was like.... this... isn't... Doomsday.

This is All-American Boy, Joshua Walker. He should be a Texas Ranger. Get it? Walker.... Texas Ranger.... I give up. Anyways, I loved the art, it was really good, I give it a 5 out of 5, as well as the cover. A friend of mine made me a wallpaper with the cover as well as some Doomsday images.

This story was better than the one we got two issues ago though, in my opinion. Silver Kryptonite couldn't be used the same way it was on Smallville? It had to give Superman the mind of a child? The continuity with the DC Universe...

As for the story, I'd have to give it a 3 out of 5, mainly because the story revolved around talking with Batman and fighting with Josh, and then we have Bruce eating at the Kent House.... so overall the story didn't raelly move the K plot forward much save for the Lexcorp mention, where we find out that Lex has Kryptonite guns ready and loaded.
So... June 18 the conclusion of the K storylie hits the shelves, be sure to pick it up. I know I will be. Until next time.

Iron Man 2 News

So I've been reading around the web some recent news about Iron Man 2 and Iron Man's role in the other upcoming films from Marvel. So... here's the latest on one of my favorite Heroes (and yes, If I ever redo my top ten favorite superheroes, he will be moved up). I'll begin with Iron Man 2. All of the main cast will be returing for the April 30, 2010 sequel, Iron Man 2, and a third will follow. In Iron Man 2, Thor WILL be making a cameo appearance.

The second film in the Iron Man Trilogy will focus on what happens after the man becomes the hero, with a darker story and a darker tone. Tony will have more of a streamline, an assembly line, if you will, of Iron Man Models, and that while Tony is dealing with his problems, Terrence Howard (Rhodes) has said that him becoming War Machine will be a slow process like in the comics, but he may take on the mantle for a short period of time as Iron Man.

Robert Downey Jr. will again play Stark after the Credits in The Incredible Hulk, but not as Iron Man. Favreau considers Avenger to be a third film, and Iron Man will again be played by Robert Downey starring alongside Edward Norton as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the 2011 release.

I'll have more news on this coming soon, but for now, don't miss Incredible Hulk, to be released in twelve days.

In My Time of Flying - Review of Action Comics #864

I finally got around to going to my local comic book store and buying Action Comics #864, although I really wanted to buy Superman #676, the store didn't have any more in stock, but they did have comics such as Justice League, Green Lantern, Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull #1, The Incredibe Hulk, Batman R.I.P (which I really hope I can pick up before it's off the shelves), and Batman/Superman.

There were plenty of choices, but since a new Action Comics was coming soon and I am waiting for Batman/Superman in the mail, (as well as Superman 676, but I wanted it before it was gone), I ultimately decided on Action Comics #864.

If you haven't been reading Action Comics, (neither have I save for the last issue before this, #863), I believe the past few issues and the coming issues will be all about Superman, Batman, and The Legion of Superheroes, although Action Comics #865 is about Toyman....

This issue of Action Comics was Written by Geoff Johns, Pencilled by Joe Prado, and Inked by Jon Sibal. The issue begins with Batman making his way into the Fortress of Solitude, with a strange commentary going on in the background. Batman looks around to find Lightning Lad and Superman talking about the days when they were younger.

Garth and Bruce don't seem to like each other to well and Bruce asks him to wait so he can talk to Superman in private. Bruce wonders why Clark did not answer his Justice League Beacon, and Clark replies by saying that he was with the Legion in the 31st century again. Bruce tells of how he's met three different Legions, and expresses his distrust of Time Travellers. He then tells Clark the real reason he came to the Fortress: two Legionarres are dead in present Gotham City.

They are Val Armorr and Luornu Durgo, friends and allies of Garth and Clark. (See Countdown) Bruce and Clark conclude that they were not killed in Gotham and a virus seems to have taken Val. Garth arrives on the scene and the cops shoot at him, but Superman stops the fight before anyone gets killed. Garth and Bruce again get fired up, but then a signal from Thom Kallor aka Starman, sends them to Opal City Sanitarium.

Thom explains that people are disappearing for a reason, and that someone has it out for Superman, Batman, and the Legion. He explains that some people stay dead and don't come back, and like Karate Kid with the Mortococcus virus, they might end up the same way.All throughout the issue the commentary continues.

Starman also knows who the guy is who is doing all of this, placing the bodies around so Superman finds them. Starman says that the guy is saying his final goddbye to Batman and his hello to Superman. Starman says that he is leaving, and that he might get a new identity, probably under the name of Danny Blaine. Then he gives Clark the wall to put in the Fortress, and Garth, Bruce, & Clark are back in the Fortress.

Garth puts his friends into the time sphere as he talks to Superman and Batman. Superman offers to help, but Garth tells him to get on with life, and he tells Batman he should try to get loud once and a while.... a foreshadowing perhaps?

Garth tells Clark that he is more a brother to him than Mekt ever was, and parts with a gift from Brainiac Five: A Legion Ring. The ring will take Clark to the future if they need him- but it only works once. Garth leaves in the Time Sphere and Clark talks to Batman. He tells Bruce that they are called Superman and Batman-World's Finest in the History Books of the 31st century... which is a lie. The voice says that they barely remember Batman... and says his final goodbye to Batman.

We flash to a hand of the nysterious voice, who says that he can't seem to erase Superman from History.... but he can corrupt everything he ever stood for. The voice's "name" is the Time Trapper, and he claims that he deserves better than he is given. There are flashes of many events, from the return of Brainiac to the reign of Gog and the arrival of Val and Una... To be continued in Legion of Three Worlds.

The Next issue however focuses on Toyman. Overall, I give the story a 10 out of 10, they had a lot of nods to comics past and present, and I think this sets up the rest of the year for Action Comics as well as Final Crisis. The whole Time Trapper aspect is just another way for DC to explain all of the different Superman, Batman and other incarnations that we have been getting for the past few years.

The Cover art for the issue was... kind of a nod to Infinite Crisis with Superman Prime. As for the art in the issue itself, I thought it was excellent, but I liked last month's better, mostly for the fact that in last months Action Comics, Superman's likeness looked like Christopher Reeve's.

Just a comment on Action Comics #873, that was the main reason I loved the issue. Maybe it was just me, but personally I think they were trying to make the Superman in the issue look like Christopher Reeve. In several panels, It looked just like him. Even Superman #675 had one panel that he looked like Christopher Reeve in.

So overall, I would have to give this issue 10 out of 10 Legion Rings.

Man of Steel Official Site

Hey guys! I was bored, so as usual, I came here to geek out..... shoutout to Steve Glosson of Geek Out Online and the Geek Out Loud Podcast.

So a few months ago, I was surfing the web and I found out that the official website for Man of Steel had been set up. I hoped it would be changed by now, but it is still the same as it was. When you go to the site, you see the Superman Symbol, then you hear the John William's music, followed by a Daily Planet Paper: SUPERMAN RETURNS IN 2009. I still believe they need to change it to 2010, but I'll remain hopeful.

That is followed by 2.0.0.9 with an image of Brandon Routh, and links at the bottom, then you hear the words of Marlon Brando. So.... if you havent already checked out the teaser site for Man of Steel, you can view it here.

Red Hulk in the Xbox 360 Hulk Game

Gamstop and Sega have teamed up to make an exclusive offer to Game Stop buyers of the Xbox 360 version of The Incredible Hulk: The Red Hulk.

Red Hulk has recently been introduced into the comics, and in the most recent issue, it was discovered not to be Bruce Banner, but... someone else. Yes, this the actual Shield for Captain America. In the comics, Tony Stark was the one who made Captain America's Shield.

One of the crew members was interviewed by Comic Geek Speek, a great podcast, and he confirms this. (You can listen to their episode here) Of course, I could write a whole biography on Captain America and his shield as well as his involvement with Iron Man, but it's late... and well... you know I'm going to go do the whole sleep thing.

But I will say that my guess would have to be that in Iron Man 2 or the upcoming Captain America film, Nick Fury suggests that Tony give Cap the shield, so he could use it. It looks in-complete, and while the crew member said that it was just used as a nod to the fans and upcoming Captain America film, I still believe that he will be working on it during the second film.

In the modern comics, It was S.H.I.E.L.D. who gave Cap America his shield, so.... it would make sense in this Avengers Universe. I hope this actually means something... unlike the Batman Vs. Superman from I Am Legend.... so.... Can't wait for Captain America.

More Marvel Films

Two posts ago I neglected a few Marvel Movies, so I thought I should mention them now.... mostly because I have absolutely nothing better to do but blog and geek out about superheroes and comics.

First up on the roster is Punisher: War Zone, to be released on December 5, 2008. Then we have X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Hugh Jackson reprising his role as Wolverine. It is to be released May 1, 2009. The film's plot revolves around Logan's time with Team X, before he had the adamantium injected into him. The film also focuses on his complex relationship with Victor aka Sabretooth. A Magneto Origins film is planned for 2012.

Then we have a flurry of movies coming out, with Ant-Man (Henry Pym) in the 60's and aflashforward to his sucessor, Scott Lang, in the 80s and 90s. Prince Namor is an upciming movie based on the comic book hero Namor of the Ocean. The film is expected sometime from 2010-2012.

Ghost Rider 2 is still in the planning stages, but Nicholas Cage stated he would return, and new villains would be introduced. The film would have a darker tone than the first Ghost Rider. A few months ago interest was sparked of a Ghost Rider & Spiderman Team Up film, but not much has been said since. Mephisto may be back in Ghost Rider 2.

Spiderman Four has a planned 2010 release date, and the rogues gallery for this film is still being figured out. If Sam Raimi returns, he has said he wants to introduce the Sinister Six. Dylan Baker has played Dr. Conners for the last two movies and it is expected that since he will be back for the fourth that he may become The Lizard. Also, a Venom spin-off is reported to be in the works.

If all of these films are going to come out in the same years as The DC films and the other Marel Avengers Universe films, the next few years promise to be Superhero Film heavy. Now, Spiderman 4 I am greatly looking forward to and the same goes for Wolverine. Punisher... I don't remember ever seeing the first film, and while I know the second film has nothing to do with the first, It would probably be wise If I went to go watch Punisher.

So.... I guess we have Hulk coming out June 13, only about two weeks away, and I believe the next film (not counting DC Films) is Punisher, then we get Wolverine. Past that, I have no idea except for the Avengers film lineup. The next few years are an exciting time to be a comic or superhero fan, as is this year.

I can't wait to see the new superhero films and I'll be sure to get them all on DVD when they are released on DVD.

DC Film Series

Last post I said a few words on the known upcoming Marvel films, so I figured I might as well do the same for the upcoming DC Films.

First up is The Dark Knight, the second film in the Nolan series starring Christian Bale as Batman aka Bruce Wayne, Heath Ledger as Batman's arch-nemesis, The Joker, and Aaron Eckhart as Two Face... ahem... I mean... Harvey Dent. The Dark Knight is after Batman: Gotham Knight, the Anime Film to be released July 8, 2008.

With the release of the Dark Knight, the next DC film coming out is titled The Spirit, a movie based on comic strips from newspapers adapted to comic books. After the release of The Spirit on Christmas Day 2008, comes Watchmen on March 6, 2009.

Watchmen promises to be one of the better films of the year. I'm looking forward to Watchmen. After Watchmen, DC has planned a heap of movies, with Wonderwoman in 2009, Man of Steel in 2009, (or 2010) Green Lantern in 2010, and Batman 3 as well as Superman 3 should be released in 2010-2012. The Flash's release date has yet to be announced, but we can assume it will be anywhere from 2011-2013.

A few months ago, I found the teaser site for Man of Steel, with the logo and a newspaper, saying "MAN OF STEEL RETURNS IN 2009." Then a binch of liks pop up and we hear a little background music. You can find the website here.

The site says he will face his greatest enemy yet, and personally I still believe it is Brainiac, and he could do something with New Krypton where he could replicate or something cool like that. Maybe they'll get James Marsters as Brainiac. He would be my first and only choice. But of course DC doesn't seem to have actor consistincy as much as Marvel does (take Robert Downey Jr appearing in Hulk for examlpe)

In closing, I also believe that Jutsice League could still be made If they try hard enough to get it off the ground. Oh! almost forgot to mention one film.

A week or two ago, Green Arrow: Escape from Supermax was announced. It will star a rouges gallery of criminals, and will be released sometime from 2009-2011. You can read more about it here.

The Avenger Film Series

Since Marvel has a line-up of films for Superheroes and are actually doing something... ahem... unlike a DC we know.... I figured I would geek about it and post something on my blog. In case anyone didn't know, Iron Man is the first film, followed by The Incredible Hulk on June 13, 2008, then comes Iron Man 2 on April 30, 2010, and then Thor on June 4, 2010, and then The First Avenger: Captain America on May 6, 2011, followed by The Avengers, to be released July 2011. Hulk 2 and Hulk 3 along with Iron Man 3 still have yet to be announced release-date wise.

I have to say, I'm looking forward to these more than a lot of other superhero films. And so far, only three main cast members are known to appear in every or almost every film. Edward Norton as Bruce Banner or Hulk, Robert Downey Jr. as Anthony "Tony" Stark aka Iron Man, and then we have Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

For those of you who didn't get a chance to see Iron Man, I would suggest going to see it before it is out of theaters, and then read the rest of my review. Also, if you haven't seen it, and you go to see it, be sure to stay after the credits for a Nick Fury/Iron Man scene.

I must say I like this incarnation of General Nick Fury more than the main Fury. I do recall they modelled the alternate Nick Fury in the Ulitmate Universe after Sam Jackson, so he was the perfect choice to play Fury in Iron Man. The fans that did stay after like my Father and I did were few in number. Anyone ever hear of Marvel ever putting sercet ending after the credits? Say.... X-MEN 3.

It seems Marvel has been doing that a lot more, to get you to stay during the credits. So for any Marvel movie I go to see from now on, I'm going to stay after the credits. I'm sure Incredible Hulk will have one that leave us waiting for Hulk 2.

It seems that the scene where Robert Downey plays Tony Stark in Hulk has come to the internet. Not the actual scene, but we know what will happen. Apparently Stark knows Betty Ross' (Live Tyler) father, General Ross, and he is in a scene or two with him. I won't go into to much detail because I don't want to spoil the scene in question.

Until next time, May Thor's Mighty Hammer be with you.... or something like that.

The New One is in Town

I just got done watching a montage of Hulk Trailer and let me tell you, I am waiting very anxiously now for the release of The Incredible Hulk.

If you search Youtube, You'll find plenty of TV Spots, Trailers, Teasers, and other goodies, but I must say that I am anxiously waiting for this more than I was for many films this year.

Although, I am looking forward to The Dark Knight more than I have for any film really.
